Orange County Business Journal Best Places To WorkAs a result of our employee-owned culture and constant pursuit of challenging, innovative projects, we’d like to think that Burns & McDonnell is a pretty great place to work.

According to this year’s “Best Places To Work” list compiled by the Orange County Business Journal, it seems the publication’s staff agrees. We’re proud to be included on this list that recognizes the area’s best employers based on factors including policies, practices and benefits. Burns & McDonnell is the only engineering firm to be named in the Large Companies category.

Thanks to a number of major projects, including the Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project and Sunrise Powerlink Project, our Orange County office is growing into a bright spot in the regional economy.

We’re proud of the office’s growth in the past year, which helped it evolve from a minimal presence to one with 100 employees throughout Southern California and several million dollars in projects. As in our Kansas City headquarters, the Orange County office emphasizes employee ownership, an entrepreneurial culture, critical energy and environmental projects, and customer service, all of which help our employees — and our company and clients — thrive.

The past year has set the tone for continued growth in Southern California, and we’re excited to see how the future unfolds.

“I look forward to expanding our presence here in Southern California, growing a strong practice here that serves our clients well and contributes to the overall success of the local and regional economic base,” says Renita Mollman, vice president of the office.

As we congratulate our hard-working Orange County employees for their dedication and success, we’d also like to extend our best wishes to all of the companies that appeared on the OCBJ’s list of “Best Places To Work.” Together, we’re helping to create a thriving business economy in Southern California, and that’s something worth celebrating!
