Lincoln County Considers Regionalization

About 10 years ago, Public Water Supply District #1 of Lincoln County, Missouri, (PWSD1) built a large membrane bioreactor wastewater treatment plant to improve its service to the community. But it's only using about one-third of its capacity. To better utilize the new Bob's Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and help the surrounding rural towns meet regulatory demands, PWSD1 is looking into regionalization — a solution that is improving efficiency and has the potential to save money for all — utilities and customers — in the long run.
